The Talita Koemi school in Nijmegen is a school for special education at a nice green location. The old building was taken down and replaced by a refreshing new one. The remarkable concept led to a building with two fronts, as if it were a big dike house. The difference in height of the area was responsible for this.

HOUTMAN+SANDER made a structuring plan for the outdoors. The most important principles: a green look, solving the difference in height and compartmentalizing the different target groups. A large and solid framework was put up. As soon as there’s a budget for it, this will make a wonderful spot for playing.
